Description
The contractor will be required to 1) Remove the existing coating, preparing the surface, and recoating all exterior surfaces and appurtenances on the bascule gate that have been previously painted and or should be painted with protective coatings; 2) Repair (welding, filler, etc.) deeply corroded and damaged areas, potholes, voids and other defects related to deterioration or corrosion on the bascule gate; 3) Disassemble all removable parts, attached angle iron bracing, metals guards, metal plates, bolts and nuts; 4) Clean, prepare the surfaces, and recoat all detached parts that were coated previously; 5) Clean and replace the thread locking and gasket adhesive product on all nuts, bolts, screws and metal fittings; 6) Clean and replace the waterproofing sealant (Calking) between the angle iron ends where they meet each other at the seams, and other sealants under the metal plates; and 7) Disassemble and replace the J-seal and other seals (closed cell silicone sponge sheets). The work must be completed within 90 days from Receipt of Notice To Proceed. The work to be performed is located at Dickinson Dam three miles southwest of Dickinson, North Dakota in Stark County. The bid opening date is tentatively scheduled for July 12, 2005 at the Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Regional Office, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana. The solicitation packages will be available on or around June 9, 2005. The estimated price range of this acquisition is $25,000 to $100,000. There is no charge for the first copy; additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 per set. All reasonable sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation. This acquisition is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 238320. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1721. The small business size standard is $12 million. This specifications and drawings will be not posted to the internet; however a complete solicitation package is available in hard copy. To request a hard copy of the solicitation, contractors must fax a request to (406) 247-7798, Attn: Hart BlackEagle. The request must include contractor's name, address, phone/fax numbers, tax identification number and their Dun and Bradstreet number. Note: Effective October 1, 2003, any contractor interested in doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration.
