Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Surveillance Branch, has an immediate requirement for 73 each Airport Surface Detection Equipment (ASDE-3) Radar Video Processing System. The ASDE-3 service life extension program (SLEP) has an initiative to replace the transmitter/receivers (T/R's) Radar Video Processing (RVP) boards with a PC based RVP that performs the same functions of the existing ASDE-3 RVP boards. These RVP boards are only known to be available from Primagraphics because they currently have a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) PC based RVP solution with both the radar input and output cards. The RVP must be able to reside in the existing space allowed by the removal of the ASDE-3 equipment and meet the FAA's electrical and mechanical specifications. Primagraphics COTS solution meets these requirements and thus will preclude the FAA need to redesign the ASDE-3 T/R to accept a differenct design approach for the RVP. To receive consideration as a potential source, any other concern must provide in writing a description of their RVP board and demonstrate how it will function with the existing ASDE-3 RVP system. Vendors must respond in writing to the Contracting Officer identified in this market survey. Mark responses to the survey with market survey number #38-01848, to arrive by June 8, 2005. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing responses to this market survey. Any proprietary information should be so marked. This announcement shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire these services. Responders to this announcement may be asked to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittal. The final determination by the FAA not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the FAA.
