Description

Engineering Field Activity Northwest gives notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Mandall Armor Design and Manufacturing, as incorporated in the state of Nevada to provide for the design-build and installation of special security doors and a bypass wall assembly. Design-build services and installation of special security doors and bypass wall assembly are determined to be available from Mandall Armor. The special security doors and bypass wall assembly design-build process integrates patents developed by Mandall Armor. Also, Mandall Armor has been identified as the only known source with the capability to install, test and prove operational capability of these patented mechanisms and processes. Mandall is the only source capable of accomplishing this requirement without substantial duplication of costs to the Government. Authority for this contracting action is provided under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
