- The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on a noncompetitive basis with The University of Chicago Press, 1427 E 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60628 to purchase journal supplements to the publication entitled ?Medical Management of HIV/AIDS Hepatitis , C Virus coinfection in infection Drug Users? published by the University of Chicago Press in the September 2003, and December 2003 journals. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 511120 and the Small Business Size Standard 500 employees which are applicable to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Responses to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PS-2005-104/CDM may be submitted to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Contracts Operations Branch, Procurement Section, Building RKL2, Suite 6042, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892-7902, Attention Ms. Cecilia Morales, Purchasing Agent. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency.
