Description

The Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge in Fallon Nevada has a requirement for Helicopter herbicide spraying. Scope Of Work, Spraying of Herbicide [Habitat] to Control Salt Cedar. Helicopter application of [Habitat] Imazapyr herbicide to control Salt Cedar within the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge and Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Reservation located 15 miles N.E. of Fallon, Churchill County, Nevada. Application Period: August 1- September 30, 2005. Application Area: 550 acres . Application Rate: A minimum of 15 gallons of mixture per acre. Herbicide Rate: 2 quarts of [Habitat] Isopropylamine Imazapyr per acre with an approved surfactant. Batch Trucks used to support helicopter in the field must have DOT 406 specification tanks with current certification. Helicopters must be equipped with variable Rate Flow Control coupled with a GPS unit. GPS mapping is required . Helicopter spray boom must have the capability to spray variable swaths and be adjustable during flight by pilot. Sectional booms should be adjustable to 15, 30, and 45 feet swaths. Nozzle and boom configuration should produce a 1000-micron droplet size.
