- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires a qualified Contractor to furnish all management, supervision, labor, supplies, materials, equipment and tools required to perform the Mechanical Maintenance functions at SSA?s regional office in Wilkes Barre, Pennyslvania. The building was erected on January 16, 1991. The height of the building is 49 feet 4 inches. The facility encompasses a four (4)-floor office building totaling approximately 258,000 square feet which houses two (2) passenger elevators, four (4) freight/passenger elevators, a fitness center, child care center and playground, cafeteria, credit union; a maintenance facility of approximately 4,000 square feet; a salt shed; and 400,000 square feet of roadways and exterior parking spaces. There are approximately 1,200 employees in the building. The building is located at 1150 East Mountain Drive Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania 18702-7997. Contractor responsibilities include operation and maintenance of all air-conditioning/heating equipment; operation of the building Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) system; daily operational tours and watches; service calls; preventive maintenance; emergency services, elevator maintenance and repair services; and other services required to ensure efficient operation of the buildings. Qualified personnel provided by the Contractor would include individuals with skills in fields such as Project Management; HVAC Maintenance, Elevator Maintenance, Fire Safety, UPS Maintenance, Building Management Computer Systems Operations; and Plumbing. The firm?s employees essential to contract performance e.g., Shift-operating Engineers and the Building Management Computer System Operators would be required to be on-site 24 hours a day, 365 days each year at the facility. Other employees would be required to be on-site Monday through Friday during the facility?s working hours and be able to expeditiously respond to service calls after working hours and on weekends and holidays. The Contractor performance period includes a base year plus as many as seven (7) incentive option years. This is 100% set aside for small disadvantaged (8(a)) businesses. The applicable NAICS code is 238220. The small business size standard is less than $12M in average gross annual receipts. The solicitation (SSA-RFP-06-1003) will be posted on or about June 15, 2005.
