Description
USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center propose to issue a sole source award to JEOL for a Time of Flight (TOF) mass spectrometer to rapidly characterize and identify microorganisms isolated from environmental matrices. The following charact eristics of the system are deemed essential to allow maximum flexibility with respect to sample types, sample sizes and types of analyses. .A Time-of-Flight mass analyzer (TOF) and have an ADC data acquisition system providing for a wide, linear dynamic range of 100,000 .Resolution shall be at least 6,000 when measured at full-width-half-maximum (FWHM) .Mass accuracy shall be 5ppm RMS or better .Sensitivity shall be Signal to Noise greater than 10 (10pg, reserpine) or better .Mass accuracy shall be 5ppm RMS or better .Recording speed shall be greater than or equal to 10 spectra/sec (over full mass range) .The analyzer section shall incorporate two (2) stages of acceleration and a single stage reflectron .Ion acceleration shall be at 7kV .Full mass range shall be collected with a single data acquisition .No statistical dead-time correction shall be required .The software for acquisition and data reductions shall run on .WindowsTM XP and include, but not be limited to: o Data acquisition o Real-time instrument tuning o Status display o Auto mass calibration o Drift correction -mass & internal standard o Total Ion Current & mass chromatogram display o Processing history management o Isotopic or atomic mass calculation o Spectral deconvolution o Quantitative data processing A firm fixed price purchase order will be awarded utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Any other responsible source able to provide the referenced system above is encouraged to respond to this announcement by June 10, 2005. This is not a requ est for quotations and therefore no solicitation is available.
