Description

The Department of State (DoS) intends to award a bridge contract to Keane Federal Systems Inc., 1410 Spring Hill Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102 for the support of the Department of State Help Desk Service Center under their federal supply schedule contract GS-35F-4953G. Keane Federal is the current Help Desk Service Center incumbent. The services required are to provide DoS employees? worldwide information and assistance in the implementation, operation, administration and maintenance of office automation, data processing, database management, and communications systems and facilities. The contractor shall properly identify customer needs, perform required research and/or information retrieval, make appropriate referrals, and/or prepare and disseminate written responses as required. The contractor shall be prepared to receive and respond to telephonic, cable, facsimile, e-mail and written queries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Department will award this bridge contract for a six month period (July 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005) for the continuation of services while the competitive contract is being awarded. The Department will release a competitive procurement for these services sometime at the end of June under Solicitation Number SAQMPD05R1047 which was synopsized on 1/26/05, 2/22/05 and 4/19/05 on fedbizopps. SAQMPD05R1047 will be a 100% set-aside for small business. North American Industry Classification System Code is 541519, with annual receipts of 21M. Award of a Fixed-Priced, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract, with a base year and four, one-year option periods (with the inclusion of FAR 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services) is anticipated. The solicitation SAQMPD05R1047 can be accessed on the internet at the following sites: www.statebuy.state.gov and www.fedbizopps.gov sometime at the end of June. See No. 22.
