- On or about Friday, February 18, 2005, plans and specifications will be available at a cost of $100 (certified check or money order, payable to Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service) per set from the Northeast Facility Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Plans may be picked up at this address between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or by requesting this solicitation package in writing. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all labor, materials, and equipment to upgrade the existing HVAC equipment and controls at the New Haven Main Post Office, 50 Brewery Street, New Haven County, Connecticut. The estimated cost of the work is between $1,250,000 and $1,750,000 with construction completion no later than two hundred forty (240) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. There will be a pre-proposal for this project held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on site at the Maintenance Manager’s Office. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended. On-site visits may be arranged by contacting Bill Klubek, Manager, Maintenance, at (203) 782-7352. Technical inquires are to be addressed to the Project Architect Ned Taylor of McKinnell, McKinnell & Taylor, Inc. at (781) 878-6223 or the Project Manager Michael F. Archacki at (860) 285-7345. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. All offerors will be required to submit a Company Health and Safety Plan which will be part of the evaluation process. Prior to award, the successful contractor will be required to submit a project specific safety plan acceptable to the USPS Contracting Officer. Since construction time will exceed sixty (60) days, contractor is bound by Contractor’s Screening Requirements. The successful offeror will be required to submit a monthly subcontracting report with monthly pay requests.
