Description: The project is located on the Glenwood Ranger District, Gila National Forest in Catron County. The project consists of approximately 100 acres (Item 1) and up to an additional 100 acres (Item 1A) of tree removal by pulling the Aligator Juniper root systems out of the ground and Mulching One-seeded Junipers. Total acres were determined using Arcview GIS version 3.2. Approximate legal descriptions of contract area are as follows: Portions of Sections 9, 15, and 16, Township 10 South, Range 21 West. Elevations range from approximately 5500 feet to 5800 feet. Slopes range from 0 to 20 percent and average approximately 10 percent.
