Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, Coastal Marine Geology Team, Woods Hole Science Center (WHSC), Woods Hole, Massachusetts, intends to award a sole source contract to Edgetech, 4 Little Brook Road, West Wareham, MA, 02576-1222, for the following equipment: Special Engineered Edgetech 4200-FS Side Scan Sonar with a Sub-bottom Profiler System. The system consists of the following: DISCOVER Software and System Maintenance Software on CD for installation on customer supplied PC, 4200-FS Sonar Electronics Chasis with 4200-FS Firmware and Autonomous Interface Software, 120/410 kHZ 4200-FS Transducer Arrays, 2 Meter Extension Cable for Side Scan Sonar Array, Full Spectrum Sub-bottom Profiler Electronics Kit, Wide Band Sub-bottom Sensor Array (4-24 kHz) including special mounting plates built with pressure release material, Mass Storage Option, Interface to Vehicle INS, 4200-FS Spare Parts Kit, and Spare 120/410 kHz 4200-FS Side Scan Array. This equipment will be used in the integration of a sea-robotics, un-manned surface vessel for the purpose of conducting geophysical surveys of shallow water areas in support of the USGS/NOAA joint research program in Apalachicola Bay, Florida.
