Description

The U. S. Geological Survey, WHSC Woods Hole, MA intends to make award on a sole source basis, to SeaRobotics Corporation Palm Beach Gardens, FL to purchase an Unmanned Surface Vessel for the purpose of conducting Geophysical Surveys in support of a USGS/NOAA joint research project in Apalachicola Bay, Florida. The requested vessel is to provide acoustic measurements including side scan sonar, bathymetric and sub-bottom profiling and navigate in waters as shallow as one meter. Research of several manufacturers of similar systems resulted in the conclusion that that only SeaRobotics Corporation had the capabilities of producing a vehicle able to navigate with the equipment in such shallow waters. There is no written solicitiation for this requirement. This award will be made on or about June 16, 2005 under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000.00. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 441222. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No additional synopsis will be published. See note 1.
