- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations document (FAR) subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and following the simplified acquisition procedures in FAR part 13.5. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation: quotes are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-002. Solicitation number 6TSA-05-PJF-0003 is being issued as a request for quotes (RFQ). All Bill of Material Items specify a Brand Name requirement. Alternative solutions meeting or exceeding the technical specifications of the Brand Name requirements are encouraged and will be considered. The project’s Brand Name Justification states: Daily operations of the [redacted information] are supported by the Secret and Unclassified Wide Area Networks (SWAN and UWAN). The [redacted information] has established a list of hardware and software items that have proven compatibility with the networks’ infrastructure and baseline. [Redacted information] expends a large amount of labor and financial resources to ensure the network and its integrity is not compromised. Each of the brand name items the Client’s seeks to acquire during this acquisition has been approved by [redacted information]. The Dell Precision 670 Workstation is the only authorized workstation (desktop) computer. Similarly, the Emulex Host Bus Adapter (HBA) is the only HBA approved for integration into the networks. The unique capabilities of Skyline’s TerraExplorerPro and Macromedia’s DreamWeaver software programs, as well as approval by [redacted information], demand the acquisition of additional identical licenses and compatible upgrades. This requirement is for Headquarters, United States European Command, Germany. Please include all requirements on quotations. No partial quotes. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, applies to this acquisition. Evaluation is based on lowest cost to the Government.
