Description

This is a sole source procurement notification for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation that will be issued for the requirements set forth below. Quotes are being requested from the sole source vendor only. This action is restricted to Thermo Electron Corporation, Santa Fe, NM. The NAICS code is 334519 and the small business size standard is 500. The United States Secret Service (USSS) has a requirement for a quantity of three (3) Radiation Detectors manufactured by Thermo Electron Corp. The Radiation Detectors being ordered are the identiFINDER-NHG Standard unit with dia 1,2" x 1,5" (dia 30 mm x 38 mm) NaI(Tl), 3He neutron detector, GM tube, holster, battery charger, serial / USB interface adapter box including cables, carrying case, winTMCA software. The delivery schedule for this equipment will be sixty (60) days after receipt of order (ARO). The Government intends to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract to Thermo Electron Corp for the aforementioned requirements in accordance with FAR Part 6, 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, (a) Authority. (1) Citations: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), within five days of this announcement.
