Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. for the purchase of the following equipment: (1) Model OCTPL-U0600, OCTETE-PLUS with eight 600 mm ULTRA-AS detectors, (1) Model ALPHAPPS-115, 115-V Portable Pump Station for the OCTETE-PLUS and (1) Model A36-B32, Alpha Vision-32 Alpha Analysis Software.*** *** This equipment must be completely compatible with the existing alpha spectrometers. NIST is currently using Octete-PC and Octete-Plus Models that are manufactured by Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. NIST requires that the new equipment be compatible with the existing equipment, and that the data be archived in a Microsoft Access database with the identical format to the Alpha Vision.mdb database distributed with the Alpha Vision software that is only available from Advanced Measurement Technology. Alpha Vision software is propriety to Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. is the sole source supplier of these products. They have no distributors/ re-sellers of these products. These products must be purchased directly from them.*** ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 45 days after receipt of order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by June 24, 2005.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
