Description
The Sanctuary required the services of a contractor who will be responsible for all logistics and administrative functions of the Sanctuary Advisory Council (SAC). The contractor will work closely with the chair of the SAC, working group chairs, and the Sanctuary staff. The contractor will also be required to perform as a management support specialist, to assist implementation of important management, project and policy initiatives. The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS) needs to develop and implement this management support program, in particular while the MBNMS engages in a comprehensive management plan review over the next two years. The contractor will work closely with the Sanctuary Superintendent for a period of one year from award of contract. Work to be perform on site at the MBNMS Monterey, California The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS), the nation?s largest marine protected area, encompasses more than 5,300 square miles of central California coastal waters containing a rich array of habitats and marine life. The Sanctuary program provides protection of these natural resources through research and education to foster public understanding and stewardship of this nationally significant marine area. The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council (SAC) is comprised of 24 members representing a wide variety of agencies and user groups within the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The SAC serves to advise and assist the Superintendent on Sanctuary related issues and informs the Sanctuary staff of the needs of the local community. The SAC has four working groups associated with it that address separately, conservation, education, research, and business and tourism matters. The SAC meets approximately every eight weeks; the working groups meet either monthly or bimonthly. This notice may represent the only office notice. This is a simplified acquisition. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) as of October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vender is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov.
