The CDC, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Spokane Research Laboratory intends to negotiate with LDS Test and Measurement LLC for part number 986A0151 Genesis tower mainframe which includes cpu and a master timebase card with a 1Gb/s ethernet interface. Autosensing 1GBit or 100MBit ethernet compatible. One open PMC slot for various interface options; part number 845-071800 4 channel 1MS/s bridge card, 512mb ram (64 MS/ch) isolated; part number 826-025800 perception standard software for setup, control and display with single mainframes and software support. This Nicolet Genesis high speed data acquisition system is needed to acquire and save data from blasting experiments. Up to 28 channels of high speed data will be monitored both in the laboratory setting and in the field. Primarily, strain gage sensors will be used to monitor blast strain impulses. Six strain gages are required for each data point array to determine principle stress vectors allowing up to 4 high quality data point for a single tests. Additionally, geophones and accelerometers will be used with the Genesis system to compare to the dynamic strain readings. The Nicolet Genesis system is necessary to compliment the Nicolet Odyssey system already in use for the dynamic strength and attenuation tests.
