Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO PROCURE A BUNDLED CONTRACT: The VA National Acquisition Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) 797-NC-05-0048 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) for Terazosin Capsules. The estimated annual usage of Terazosin capsules is as follows: 93,032 bottles of 10mg capsules in bottles of 100 each; 32,105 bottles of 10mg capsules in bottles of 500 each; 42,874 bottles of 1mg capsules in bottles of 100 each; 26,962 bottles of 1mg capsules in bottles of 500 each; 153,915 bottles of 2mg capsules in bottles of 100 each; 92,411 bottles of 2mg capsules in bottles of 500 each; 53,603 bottles of 5mg capsules in bottles of 100 each; 84,810 bottles of 5mg capsules in bottles of 500 each. The estimated annual usage listed above is for VA and DoD only. The Bureau of Prison (BoP) and Indian Health Service (IHS) requirements may be forthcoming and will be included in the solicitation once issued. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA and DoD respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor(s). Offerors must provide bar code labeling which includes at a minimum the NDC number. Since the bar code would be a part of the drugs label, issues concerning its quality and verification would be subject to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP?s). In addition, capsules must be compatible with automatic dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifil, etc.). If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. The solicitation will be available for downloading, on or about the issue date of July 22, 2005 from the VA Office of Acquisition and Material Management?s (O&AMM) internet web site @ http://www.va.gov/oamm/busopp/sols.htm.
