Description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests has a need for contractors to perform trail restoration and reconstruction work on an estimated 350 miles of Forest Service trails. Multiple awards are expected to result from this solicitation. The Government anticipates placing orders totaling a minimum of $400,000 over the life of the contract or contracts. The work will consist of trail restoration, slide maintenance, drainage, logging out, hazard tree removal, seeding and mulching, installation of silt fencing, bridge construction and bridge restoration. LOCATION: The work is to be performed at various locations within the boundaries of the Chattahoochee National Forest. For ease of cost estimating the Forest is divided into three zones. Zone One covers the Armuchee-Cohutta Ranger District comprised of Chattooga, Floyd, Walker, Whitfield, Gordon, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer Counties, Georgia. Zone Two Covers the Brasstown-Toccoa Ranger Districts comprised of Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Town, and Union Counties, Georgia. Zone Three covers the Tallulah-Chattooga Ranger Districts comprised of Lumpkin, White, Towns, Habersham, Rabun, and Stephens, Counties, Georgia. The solicitation, AG-435H-S-05-0004 will be issued via FedBizOpps, as a request for proposal and will be available for downloading on or about June 29, 2005 at the website address: http://www.fedbizopps.gov/
