- Description
- The Bureau of the Census National Processing Center (NPC) in Jeffersonville, Indiana, intends to award a purchase order to Covanta Indianapolis in accordance with methods and procedures per FAR Part 13 for Simplified Acquisitions, and in accordance with FAR 13.103, ?Use of Standing Price Quotations,? wherein the pricing information is current and the Government will obtain the benefit of maximum discounts before award. The requirement is for the vendor to process the destruction via incineration of sensitive Census materials, records, and forms composed mostly of paper products and other materials such as metals and plastics. The process includes the sealed and secure shipment of the materials from the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville to the vendor?s facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. The amount of materials to be processed is approximately 350 tons. The materials are on wooden pallets weighing about 1,100 pounds each. The incineration facility owned and operated by Covanta Indianapolis is the only known facility within a reasonable distance from NPC Census that can destroy the Census materials in a manner that complies with Census policies and procedures and also complies with EPA environmental regulations. The NAICS code is 562119. The intent of this synopsis is for information purposes only and is not a request for competitive quotations. No solicitation will be issued. Interested companies having the appropriate abilities may submit via email their capability statement with cost information to the given address within 15 days of this notice to Clark Terrell, Contract Specialist. No telephone requests will be honored. If no responses are received within 15 days of the date of this notice, a purchase order will be processed without further notice.
