Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Highland Drive Campus, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 intends to negotiate with Alcon Laboratories, 6201 S. Freeway, Fort Worth, TX 76134 on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 for the purchase of the Infiniti Vision System with AquaLase Liquefaction consisting of console, footswitch, remote control, operator?s manual, dust cover, video overlay system one year warranty and Aqualase hand piece. Accessories to include ultrasound handpiece and Neosonix handpiece. Special features required are tri-modal cataract removal system, AquaLase system using cold water instead of ultrasound for phaco emulsification, and pulsed surgical solution to safely break up and remove natural lens material. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, no later than 4:00 PM on 6/27/05. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Notification shall be mailed to Cheryl Weidner (04A1-H), Contracting Officer, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
