- Description
- The US Army, TACOM-Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce has a requirement for 6,197 M249 Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW) with potential additional option quantities of 1,855 for option 1 and 7,277 for option 2. The M249 is built in accordance with a Technical Data Package available under Limited Distribution D: Distribution authorized to the Department of Defense and US DoD contractors only. It is the Government's intent to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to FN Manufacturing, LLC, Columbia SC, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), Only One Responsible Source And No Other Supplies Or Services Will Satistfy Agency Requirements. Release of the solicitation is anticipated on or about 8 July 2005 and will be available at http://procnet.pica.army.mil.
