- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, 820 Chandler Street, Fort Detrick, MD intends to negotiate a follow-on SOLE SOURCE procurement with Johnson Controls. The contractor will provide services, materials, facilities, and equipment to c omplete installation of the Electronic Security System upgrade for seven door in the USAMRIID complex. Due to prior participation and on-site presence in the design and installation of existing systems program, continued partnership with this firm is in the best interest of the government. To ensure the compatibility and consistency of approach, proper integration standardization Johnson Controls is the only acceptable source to continue to serve as a partner with the Government for this requirement. Th e existing partnership has resulted in a working relationship with established agreements that would have to be redeveloped, incurring unnecessary loss of time and expense to the Government. Competitive bidding would result in significant, project delays , would require duplication of cost to the government, and would not result in cost savings. This is a SOLE SOURCE procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive quotes. However, statements of capability to fulfill th is requirement received from other responsible businesses prior to close of business on 30 Jun 2005 will be evaluated.
