- Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security is developing a requirement for Personal Safety Supplies and Equipment. The definition of Personal Safety Supplies and Equipment (PSS&E) are Supplies and Equipment that are utilized to promote safety in a work related environment for employees. CBP desires to incorporate commercial industry practices into the overall acquisition plan for the procurement of the supplies and equipment. The intent is to procure the majority of the supplies most likely through a distributor of personal safety supplies and equipment. This is a request for Information only; This is not a solicitation request. Responses for Requests for Information will not be shared with other industry supplies and will solely be used as part of the contract planning process. Disclaimer: The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Any contract that might be awarded based on information received or derived from this RFI will be the result of a competitive process that will be announced at a later date. Please respond by e-mail only. Please reference the corresponding question number when responding to this RFI: 1. Company Name, Company Address, Point of Contact, Telephone Number, e-mail Address, and size of your Organization (i.e. Large Business, Small Business utilizing the FSC Code 5961 and NAIC Code 454113 (mail order houses - small business size standard NTE $21,000,000 per year) as the basis for your response. 2. Does your company have the capability of shipping personal safety supplies/equipment to all 50 states, US territories and at times to overseas destinations via fob destination. What is the most economical shipping process offered? What is the average delivery time for products ordered? How long does it take to process the average order? How are emergency orders handled? 3. Does your company utilize a catalog for sales? What is the number of products that are considered to be personal protective supplies/equipment? 4. Does your company have an on-line catalog and ordering process? 5. If a website is available, does your website offer information such as "fact sheets" on OHSA regulations and compliance concerning safety in the workplace? or on various personal protective safety products? 6. What type of inventory management system is utilized? How many supplies are kept in inventory? 7. Does your company have a toll free telephone number to offer technical support and questions regarding the use of personal property safety equipment 8. Can your company provide an e-mail confirmation when the order is submitted dthat includes a copy of the order and a shipment tracking number? 9. Does your company have an automated tracking system that CBP can access to determine status of order? 10. Does your company have the ability to obtain signatures for receiving confirmation on orders shipped. 11. Can your company provide weekly activity reports, identifying order numbers, dollar amounts, dates, and the name of individual who submitted the order Provide a Quarterly report that lists all products ordered by individual?
