Description

Presolicitation Notice - - The Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Penitentiary, Marion, IL intends to issue RFP-40904-0366 for the project entitled Repair 1,000,000 gallon above ground storage tank and 250,000 gallon spherical water tower at the United States Penitentiary (USP) in Marion, Illinois. The Contracting Officer anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract. The successful contractor will be required to, repair and install a passive cathodic protection system on 1,000,000 gallon above ground storage tank and 250,000 gallon spherical water tower. These are located outside the secured fence. The magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation will be available on/about July 6, 2005 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most current information about the acquisition. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The date the request for quote is due is on/about August 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. local time, at USP Marion. The NAICS is 237110 and the size standard is $28,500,000. This solicitation is 100 percent set-a-side for small business. Faith-Based and Community Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. All responsible small business may submit a quote which will be considered.
