Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) Network 22 Logistics Office (NBC) in Long Beach, CA intends to issue a Contract to Cardinal Health on or about June 29, 2005. The requirement of this Contract is to provide all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and supervision, in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, to provide Custom Sterile Surgical Packs for fifteen (15) various Government Healthcare facilities located within VA VISN 18, VISN 19, VISN 20, VISN 21, VISN 22, VISN 16 and DoD Facilities in the same geographical boundaries. The contract itself shall consist of one (1) two (2) month period. This contract is being issued as a sole source set-aside, interim contract, due to unusual and compelling urgency (reference FAR 6.302-2). Due to the complexity of packs, number of packs required and to prevent interruption in patient care, the current contractor, Cardinal Health, is the only source available for continuity. This contract will cover the period until the long-term contracts awarded to Professional Hospital Supply (Contract V600P(C)-0301) and Cardinal Health (Contract V600P(C)-0302) can manufacture, assemble and stock the custom sterile surgical packs. The DVA NBC awarded these competitive based contracts for a base year plus four (4) one (1) year option periods on June 7, 2005.
