- Description
- The Carderock Division Naval Surface Warfare Center intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Space Electronics. The contractor shall provide Model XR250 Moment of Interia (MOI) with computer interface option. The instrument measures (MOI) of any object regardless of its size or shape with parts weighing up to 250 lbs., with an accuracy of 0.002 lb-in2. All information is determined in a fraction of the time required for current MOI calculations. This permits accurate, repeatable, and rapid accumulation of data necessary for variation analysis during the ballasting of surface ship models. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements under the authority of FAR 6.302.1. (See numbered note: 22) All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this not! ice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
