- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the NSWC Division Crane." This pre-solicitation has been renumbered from N00164-05-R-4218 to N00164-05-R-4215. The amendments to N00164-05-R-4218 have been added to the text of this pre-solicitation. The Government intends to enter into a basic firm fixed priced contract for 30mm x 173 programmable, fuzed, airbursting ammunition with point initiation capability. The ammunition shall be capable of defeating both Infantry (PASGT configured) and multiple types of light materiel targets, such as trucks, BTRs, individual and groups of threat soldiers, ATGM sites and Lightly Fortified Infantry Emplacements (LFIEs), when presented in either exposed, partially exposed or defilade conditions. In addition, the ammunition must be capable of defeating small, high-speed water borne surface targets such as small fast inshore attack craft (FIAC). The ammunition shall be capable of defeating land and water surface targets in an engagement range interval of 200 meters (maximum all-arm range) up to 2,500 meters (Threshold); the desired maximum engagement range is 4,000 meters (Objective). The ammunition shall be capable in the airburst mode of receiving electronic burst point data fr! om the GWS fire control and accurately burst at that point. Minimum safe all arm distance shall be not less than 50 meters. Ammunition shall function safely and reliably through the MK44 30mm Automatic Cannon equipped with a 0 to 7.5 degree, full gain twist chrome barrel. Ammunition shall function safely and reliably over the operational temperature range of -30 to +50 degrees Celsius. The ammunition and associated system shall be capable of being fully integrated into the MK44 Automatic Cannon and MK46 Weapon System. The ammunition must meet safety requirements needed for U.S. Navy Weapon Systems Explosive Safety Review Board (WSESRB) certification. This contract action is for a basic quantity of 500/ea rounds (rds) and special test components. The contract will also require data and contractor support required to conduct the evaluation. The government will require delivery of the basic contract within 180 days of contract award. Contract award is expected on a F! OB Destination basis with delivery to NSWC Dahlgren, Virginia. Amendment 0001 to N00164-05-R-4218 This is a modification to the previous pre-solicitation synopsis for 30MM X 173 airburst ammunition. The purpose of this modification is to inform all interest parties that the government intends to test the rounds procured under this solicitation. The data from the testing of these rounds will be utilized as part of the award evaluation process for an anticipated future RFP which has a currently projected estimated value of $29,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Amendment 0002 TO N00164-05-R-4218 This is a modification to the previous pre-solicitation synopsis for 30MM X 173 airburst ammunition.
