Description
The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Juneau plans to issue a Request for Quotation for the procurement of services for furnishing of all equipment, common and special tools, travel and incidentals necessary to perform factory recommended 11,000 hour Top End (First Interval) service, inspection, overhaul and rebuild procedures on (1) Coast Guard owned Caterpillar model 3512, serial number 67Z01067. All procedures to be as outlined in Caterpillar Publication SEBU6701 or current edition as well as other Caterpillar references and procedures. All parts shall be genuine Caterpillar Tractor Co. parts meeting all manufacturer original equipment specifications. All work shall be performed by a ?Caterpillar Qualified? mechanic and must provide a copy of the mechanic?s Caterpillar Qualifications Card. After completion of the overhaul, test run the engine generator under full load for four hours and verify factory-operating specifications. The project site is located at U.S. Coast Guard LORAN Station Port Clarence, Alaska is located 85 miles northwest of Nome, Alaska. Material and personnel transportation to LORAN Port Clarence can either be by Coast Guard aircraft from Air Station Kodiak (at no cost to the Contractor) or commercial aircraft. The proposed contract action is for services the Government intends to acquire as a commercial service item using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5 TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The estimated award date is mid-end July 2005, with a required completion date of September 20, 2005. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811310. All responsible businesses may submit a quote. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form. Solicitation documents, may be accessed for download from the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website beginning on the date of issue (estimated to be on or about 27 June 2005) at the following site: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted on this website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time quotes are due. Firms must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and FEDTeDS database to be able to access the technical data package. A planholders list will not be available for this project from CEU-Juneau.
