Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Optical Technology Division, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(1) (b), with Agilent Technologies of Englewood, Colorado, for on-site calibration services for the following Agilent and Keithley Instrument equipment listed below: (1) Agilent Model No. 34401A, 10 Digital mulitimeter, 6.5 digit, (2) Agilent Model No. 3456A 6 ? Digit DMM, (3) Agilent 3457A, Digital multimeter, (4) Agilent Model No. 3458A, Digital multimeter, 8.5 digit, (5) Agilent Model No. 34970A, Data Acquisition/Switch Unit, (6) Keithley Instrument Model No. 197, DMM and (7) Keithley Instrument Model No. 263 calibrator/source that NIST already owns. ****This notice of intent is based on market research that leads NIST to believe that only Agilent Technologies can provide the item noted above.**** The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, and the size standard is $6.0 M. ****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, parties authorized by Agilent Technologies that can provide the service agreement noted above may respond to this notice to indicate that they can provide it. Such notice shall be provided by June 28, 2005. The Government will then determine whether this procurement can be competed. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition will be based upon responses to this notice.
