- The Future Concepts Division- LRED at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is looking for an environmental monitoring device system that will monitor temperature, humidity, and shock. The device system being sought will be wireless, communicating at a frequency that allows near global acceptance unlicensed. It would be acceptable for the device to monitor only one or two of the environmental conditions and to have several devices acting in concert to fulfill this need and also to have the device or several devices linked to a radio frequency transceiver for communication. The desired battery life is 7 to 10 years. The device system needs to operate at a minimum of -20 to +180 degrees Fahrenheit. The following information is being requested as a result of this sources sought notice: Device type (temperature, humidity, shock, other) Measurement range Measurement frequency (how often a measurement occurs) Battery life Total battery capacity in amp hours Battery type Communication frequency How the device is read (how data is gathered from the device) Where the data is transferred to Where the data is stored Approximate cost for 1, 100, and 10,000 devices Approximate itemized cost for any other equipment needed to utilize the device Communication range if wireless Transmission power, both at the device and at the interrogator Data transfer rate Size of the device in inches Any mounting restrictions of the device Operating temperature range of the device Data storage capacity of the device Point of contact for additional information Interested parties shall submit their qualifications and capabilities to meet the specific needs stated above, with supporting rationale electronically to the technical POC, Mr. Kenneth Blecker at kenneth.blecker@us.army.mil or Ms. Morgan Ross at mross@pica.army.mil within 30 days of this notice. This is a market survey/sources sought synopsis for information only and shall not be construed to be a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited.
