Description

This is not a Request for Proposal Submission. This is a notice of contract action. The Aging Aircraft Systems Squadron (AASS) is preparing to award an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, on sole source basis to Edgewater Computer Systems Inc, the only known source for the extended technological development of high-bandwidth data bus networking. The IDIQ contract shall provide for the acquisition of an expansion of MIL-STD-1553B and MIL-HDBK-1553. The contracts shall contain capabilities including, but not limited to, continued technology development efforts for additional capabilities leading to the first and subsequent iterations of the MIL-STD- 1553B and MIL-HDBK-1553, standards to increase cost-effective upgrading of legacy Air Force and DoD mobile war fighting support platforms, studies and analyses on DOD and government wide weapon systems, develop technical reports, test plans, and required test procedures. The contract to be awarded will cite FAR 6.302-1, only one known responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, as its authority and supported by an approved Justification and Approval. The proposed action is a 5 year IDIQ contract and will include Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Firm Fixed Price, as well as Time and Materials delivery orders. The program office plans to issue the RFP 15 days from the publication date of this notice and award this contract by Oct 2005. NAICS Code 541710 has been assigned.
