Description
FHWA is seeking information on the projected costs of conducting the next National Personal Travel Survey (NPTS) in order to increase the coverage, efficiency, and sample representativeness of this core data program. These costs are to include the cost of the survey planning, a pretest, conducting the full survey, and creating dataset deliverables and user documentation. FHWA is also very interested in obtaining any comments on the scope, content, approaches, and/or technologies for the next NPTS. These may be submitted by any source and can be submitted with or without accompanying cost estimates, and, if desired, independent of cost estimates. The 2001 NHTS User?s Guide, available at http://nhts.ornl.gov, is a valuable source of documentation of the design and content of the previous survey in this series. Note that the costs in this Request for Information are based on a strawman survey design, which is likely to change somewhat when the actual survey, currently planned for 2008, is conducted. There is no bid package or solicitation document associated with this announcement. This Request for Information does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement action will be issued. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the submission of contractor?s information. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for proprietary information not properly identified as such. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Attached documents contain all hyperlinks for further information. Responses to the Request for Information are due no later than Monday, July 25, 2005, 4:00 pm eastern time.
