Description
The Communications Electronics Life Cycle Management Command is conducting market research for purposes of identifying sources that can provide the following Type I NSA certified piece of equipment. The KG-250 is a Type 1 In-line Network Encryptor (INE) that is currently in development. Description: The KG-250 is an INE device designed to provide Type 1 encryption for network users, allowing them to securely pass Internet Protocol (IP) data packets cl assified up to TOP SECRET/SCI across private internets, wide area networks (WANs), or the public Internet. It is a plug-and-play device that functions similarly to a router on the secure network. The KG-250 is simple to administer because it uses network p rotocols to perform most of the configuration and path discovery dynamically. It provides a trusted IP header bypass function, which allows data packets to navigate through the standard wide-area commercial infrastructure to secure destination networks. Us er sensitive (Red Side) IP headers are able to be hidden from the unclassified (Black Side) of the network. The KG-250 interfaces to the secure network and to the WAN via Ethernet connections located on the chassis. The KG-250 provides strong security feat ures: secure-side net management, data integrity, mandatory and discretionary access control, unique-key-per-packet encryption, transmission security, and scheduled net key rollover. The KG-250 architecture is designed to support the High Assurance IP Inte rface Specification (HAIPIS) requirements developed by the NSA to ensure future IP INE interoperability. All features (networking and cryptography) are programmable, ensuring all future HAIPIS updates can be easily integrated into the KG-250 with minimal o peration impact. Application: As an INE, the KG-250 is inserted between the classified user host(s) or workstation(s) and the unclassified network. It receives data from Ethernet (802.3), performs access control and encryption, and transmits the encrypted data to the WAN via its Ethernet interface. The KG-250 provides single-level, system-high data encryption, and can accommodate network partitioning into communities of interest (COI). Certification: The KG-250 is NSA Type 1 certified for all classification levels up to and including TS/SCI U.S. Government information. Classification: The KG-250 is designated as a Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI). CCI products are unclassified, but controlled, when unkeyed. When keyed, the KG-250 is classified to the high est level of the traffic key it contains. Components: The KG-250 consists of the stand-alone INE equipment, an external power supply, User Documentation, and miscellaneous accessories. Ancillaries: The KG-250 and associated software provides key management , network configuration, routing, and auditing services. Other ancillary equipment includes cables, connectors, power supplies, and a rack-mounting adapter with an integral power supply for use with a 19 inch rack. Dimensions: Height: 1.6 inches (42.7 mm), Width: 7.50 inches (149.3 mm), Depth: 11.9 inches (304.8 mm), Weight: 6.5 lbs (3 Kg) Approximately. Power: +5 VDC and +3.3 VDC. Environment: Fixed Plant. VENDORS THAT ARE CABAPLE OF PROVIDING THIS TYPE I encryption equipment please provide your capabilit y statements and certifications to contract specialist kathleen.a.camp@us.army.mil or contracting officer diane.brown3@us.army.mil
