Description

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to award a sole source purchase order for a turnkey system upgrade to PRISM, Inc. PRISM, Inc. has proprietary rights to their software and they are the only vendor that can provide support and services. Maintenance support for the hardware/software is provided by PRISM, Inc. and includes all parts and labor plus telephone support and software maintenance. This turnkey system will provide upgrades to four Jet Mail II NT systems to XP systems. The upgrade includes four new CPU?s with related boards and Jet Mail II XP software on each CPU. Installation and training will also be included in this upgrade. Installation will include converting all job setup files. One day will be reserved for training to cover all the changes and new features of the Jet Mail II for XP. Jet Mail II is a high speed, high quality production ink jet addressing and imaging system. Included with the equipment supplied are high speed, production mail bases, stackers, takeaway conveyors and other document handling equipment. This equipment is critical to the IRS communication and mailing capability. This upgrade will help the IRS to preserve their investment in PRISM high speed printers. This is 100% set aside for small business, under simplified acquisition procedures. Responsible sources who believe they can provide the required services may submit a written capability statement, via e-mail, no later than 10 days from the published date of this announcement. Telephone inquiries will be considered non-responsive. No solicitation will be issued, therefore, requests for solicitations will be considered non-responsive. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
