Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) procurement for the Marine Design Center to obtain one (1) inland waters non-self propelled anchor barge conforming to commercial standards. The pr ocurement will include the refurbishment/overhaul of the existing anchor handling winch. The vessel is intended to serve the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District in support of its dredging mission. The vessel primary mission is the lifting and storage of 6000 pound navy style anchors used in the support of maintenance dredging. The vessel will operate in both shallow and drift-strewn rivers. The vessel will have the following principal particulars: Classed with ABS Maltese Cross A 1, Barge, River Service, Reinforcement B; Two-way barge, raked ends, flat bottomed, wall-sided, flat deck; 61 ft L x 22 ft B x 5 ft D barge size; approximately 360-SF Deckhouse at the aft end of the barge enclosing the anchor hoisting winch(existing), an arc weldin g machine, a diesel generator, an air compressor and equipment storage; A 10-kw diesel generator deck mounted, air cooled; A 400 amp diesel powered arc welder (independently fueled); A 100psi, 35scfm, 80 gallon, diesel powered air compressor; Forward moun ted lifting A-frame for anchor handling; 75 gallon diesel fuel tank externally at the aft end of the deckhouse. As part of the procurement, the existing Skagit anchor handling winch shall be overhauled and installed on the new barge. This acquisition wil l be performed using the procurement process prescribed in Part 14 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Liquidated damages are included in this contract and bonding is required. The IFB is intended to be issued on or about 12 July 2005. IFB W912BU-05- B-0012 will be available on the Internet Web pages on or about 12 July 2005. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors shall download this IFB (including drawings) and all amendments from the Internet We b Page at the following address https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after the issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Internet Web Page. All amendments to this IFB will be posted to the Internet Web Page at the above address. Hard copies will not be furnished. It is contractor responsibility to monitor the Web Page for any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web Page. If any of the contractor information changes during the advertisemen t period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet Web Page. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause for delay in receiving notification of the IFB and Amendments. Contractors are responsible for p rinting copies of the IFB and any amendments.
