- Maintenance dredging under this contract will be performed at various locations along the Inland Waterway Chesapeake and Delaware Canal and Upper Chesapeake Bay portion of this project: from Station 0+000 to Station 99+000 will be required to a depth of 35 feet plus one foot allowable over depth; from Station 99+000 to Station 163+655 will be required to a depth of 38 feet plus one foot allowable over depth; from Station 163+655 to Station 250+440 will be required to a depth of 40 feet plus one foot a llowable over depth. No side or end slopes will be specified and/or paid for along both channel edges (box cut). Dredging for the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (Station 0+000 to Station 99+000) will be limited to the 450 foot channel width only. Dredgin g will be performed to a point extending 25 feet outside the channel edges in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Approach Channel (Station 99+000 to Station 250+440) where shoaling occurs along the channel edge within the authorized channel limits. The work from St ation 0+000 to Station 163+655 may be performed by bucket, hopper or pipeline dredge. The material to be removed from Station 163+655 to Station 250+440 shall be performed by bucket dredge and bottom dump scows only, with material placement in overboard d isposal area. The Government-furnished disposal areas available for use under this contract are Chesapeake City, Courthouse Point and Overboard disposal area known as Site 92 in the Chesapeake Bay. The completion time for this project is 120 calendar days . The Invitation for Bid (IFB) documents will be available on the Internet Web page on or about 12 July 2005 and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors shall download this IFB (including drawings) and al l amendments (including drawings) from the Internet Web page at the following address: https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Internet Web page. All amendments to this IFB wil l be posted to the Internet Web page at the above address. Hard copies of the amendments will not be furnished. It is the contractors responsibility to monitor the web page for any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web page. If any of the contractors information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet Web page. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving notifica tion of the IFB and amendments. Contractors are responsible for printing copies of the IFB including any drawings and amendments. Bids will be opened on or about 11 August 2005 at 11:00 A.M. The NAICS Code is 237990 with a size standard of $17.0 million. T he estimated range of the project is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00 and bonding is required. All contractors must be registered in the DoDs Central Contract Register (CCR) database before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
