- The McDonald Army Community Hospital, FT Eustis, VA is looking for a Family Practice Physician as a General Medicine Officer to work under a Personal Service Contract in the Department of Urgent Care Center(UCC). Established hours for UCC are between 0700-2300, Monday through Friday. The performance period is 01 Oct 2005 through 30 Sep 2006 with four Option Years. Option Years are subject to availability of funds. Minimum Qualifications: have valid certification as a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Ostepathy who has successfully completed a three (3) year residency in Family Practice and is board certified in Family Practice by the American Academy of Family Physicians . Licenses and/or Certifications, Education, Experience and Basic Life Support Certification and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Drug Enforcement NUmber. Experience in Administer intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous medications as appropriate, bandage, basic radiological interpretations, cellulitis, cellulitis/Periorbital, draw arterial, blood gasses for evaluation and interpret results, ECG performance and initial interpretations, gastrointestinal: Dehydration/Failure to thrive, Incision and d rainage, Infant/Newborn resuscitation, Infants with fever/rule out sepsis, Infectious Disease, Lumbar puncture, Meningitis, Nail Trephination,Overdose/intoxications, Perform venous punctures, for lab studies and interpret results, Pneumonia, Reduce disloca tions and fractures when, appropriate, Remove sutures, Respiratory: Asthma/Bronchitis/Croup/Epiglottitis, Sickle Cell Disease and crises, Secure and maintain adequate intravenous access, Sling or swath injuries, Splint and stabilize traumatic injuries to extremities, Stabilize and evaluate cervical spine, injuries as appropriate, Stabilize and splint injuries as appropriate. Be capable of reading, writing and speaking English fluently.
