PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. SET-ASIDE: THIS PROJECT IS NOT SET-ASIDE. SOLICITATION NO.: I5530050062 DESCRIPTION: The work of this project includes, but is not limited to, A. The work of this contract consists of the following: a. Construction of a double chip and seal surface treatment for the Brownsville and the Green River Ferry Roads. This includes the road, parking areas, and turnouts associated with the road. b. Milling and a double chip and seal surface Treatment for the Headquarters Picnic Area roads and parking areas. c. Wedge/Leveling and a final surface overlay of the Maple Springs Campground road, parking, and camping spurs. d. The construction of two new parking areas. They are located at the Locust Grove Cemetery and the Zion Cemetery. Mammoth Cave National Park will be responsible for the sub-grade and base work. The Contractor will install a 2 inch asphalt base followed by a 2 inch surface overlay. e. BID ADDITIVE - Construct a double chip and seal surface on all roads and parking areas in the Headquarters Campgrounds. This includes all roads, parking, and camping pad (parking). f. BID ADDITIVE - Construct a double chip and seal surface on all roads, parking areas, and turnouts along the Cave City Road. It is anticipated that funds will be available for this work after October 1, 2005. This work will not be awarded until funds are available. The Contractor's bids for this work will be good through December 1, 2005. The normal requirements for bids do not apply to this item. g. Restripe the main park roads. B. Bid Alternates. Funding limitations limit the surface treatment to chip and sealing, unless the cost of a one inch surface overlay is less than the cost of the Chip and Seal. Alternate Bid will be accepted for one inch surface overlays. They will be awarded as outlined above, subject to the approval of the Contracting Officer. C. All work will be performed under a single contract. The National Park Service will award a single firm-fixed price construction contract to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to perform all operations required for the successful completion of the above named project to the contractor offering the lowest responsive, responsible quote to the Government PROJECT COST RANGE: $400,000.00 to 700,000.00 LOCATION: The project site is located in Mammoth Cave at Mammoth Cave National Park, P.O. Box 7, Mammoth Cave, KY 42259 (Edmonson County). Mammoth Cave National Park is located approximately half-way between Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY near Interstate 65 in Edmonson County. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Any required permits shall be acquired by the contractor. The contractor shall be experienced with work as described above, and the contractor shall show prior evidence of related work. The NAICS Code for this project is 237310 and the small business size standard is $28.5 million. This procurement is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and is subject to the provisions of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 14, Sealed Bidding. A Pre-bid site inspection will be scheduled for all interested parties with the time and date to be announced in the Solicitation Instructions. Proposals will be due 30 calendar days following the issuance of the solicitation.
