Description
Sources Sought for services related to the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) THIS IS NOT A FORMAL REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) AND DOES NOT COMMIT THE CENTERS FOR MEDICARE AND MEDICAID SERVICES (CMS) TO AWARD A CONTRACT NOW OR IN THE FUTURE. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis in support of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Financial Management. Responses to this publication are limited to Small Business concerns ONLY and will be utilized to identify qualified sources having the capability of providing services related to: (1) updating current Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) edits with any recommended changes or comments and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) additions, deletions, or revisions; and (2) maintenance of the Medically Unbelievable Edits (Units of Service Edits). The attached Statement of Work (SOW) is part of the Program Safeguard Contractor (PSC) SOW and shall be used as a reference for in-depth descriptions of the tasks listed above. The Government reserves the right to make modifications to this SOW as necessary. Respondents shall provide a capability statement which offers information regarding practical knowledge in operating and maintaining the CCI. Responses must reference Request for Information (RFI) number 500-05-CAG01 and include the following: Name and address of firm including point of contact name, title, phone, fax, and email. Small business classification as identified in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) (i.e. small business, small disadvantaged 8(a) certified, woman-owned small business, small disadvantaged business (not 8(a) certified), or veteran-owned small business). DUNS number. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort has been identified as Computer Programming Services ? Custom ? 541511 at $21,000,000. Contractor?s capabilities statement: providing information on specific work previously performed or being performed relating to this effort. List of customers covering the past 5 years: highlight relevant work including a summary of work performed, contract number, contract type, your role as either the Prime or Subcontractor, dollar value for each customer, and customer point of contact with phone number. Any other specific and pertinent information as it may pertain to this Sources Sought Notice that would enhance CMS? consideration and evaluation of the information submitted. Responses shall be limited to twenty (20) pages and may be submitted via electronic mail to: craig.gillespie@cms.hhs.gov as soon as possible but no later than Wednesday, July 13, 2005. In addition to the information listed above, please include answers to the following questions when submitting a response to this Sources Sought notice: 1. What is your organization?s expertise with respect to performing Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) functions? In responding to this question please provide responses to the following: What is your experience with regard to CCI? What medical expertise do you have to maintain CCI? What relationships and associations do you have with medical societies and the AMA that would benefit you in performing CCI functions? Please explain the extent of your coding knowledge (CPT and HCPCS), and how you would apply this to CCI. Please provide an example of an edit that you would create for CCI that does not already exist. What is your experience in detection, analysis, and correction of software deficiencies and problems? 2. What is your experience in maintaining/directing internal corporate QA programs? THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. RESPONDENTS WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED OF THE RESULTS OF THE EVALUATION. ALL INFORMATION SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT MUST ARRIVE ON OR BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE. THE CLOSING DATE FOR RESPONSES IS WEDNESDAY JULY 13, 2005.
