Description

The proposed work includes providing all plant, labor, material, equipment, and services necessary to construct a new Composite Deployment Training Facility. This facility will be constructed at the 158th Fighter Wing, Burlington International Airpo rt, Burlington, Vermont. This is a solicitation notice for the construction of a Composite Deployment Training Facility, two additions, fire suppression system, and renovation work to an existing F-16 Maintenance hangar, and installing a fire suppression system to a separate F-16 maintenance hangar. The new building will contain a cargo processing area, cold storage space, personnel processing and staging area, classroom and office space for STARBASE. The project consists of: Construction of a 10,500 squ are foot Deployment training facility housing Classrooms, Offices, un-heated cargo/storage areas and Mechanical Room. Project includes constructing two additions totaling 5,500 square feet, renovating 3,500 square feet, asbestos abatement, and installation of sprinkler system and HEF foam fire suppression system in two hangars. Construction will consist of concrete slabs, foundations and spread footings, structural steel framing system, masonry and metal siding. Exterior to be non-load bearing CMU walls in heated areas and structural CMU in un-heated spaces. Interior walls to be GWB or CMU. Construction shall be energy efficient to include windows with insulated glazing and thermally broken frame. Roof to be TPO or standing seam roof system on insulation over metal decking. Utilities and support facilities including an HEF Fire Suppression System in the hangars, plumbing, gas-fired heating system, heat recovery ventilation systems, air-conditioning, water, electric power, sanitary and storm drainage syste ms. Asphalt paving and landscaping are also included. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220. The related small business size is $28.5M. The magnitude of construction is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Completion date is 73 0 calendar days from acknowledgement of the Notice to Proceed. NOTE: Any prospective contractor must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) in order to be eligible for award. Registration requires a DUNS number and may take up to three (3) weeks to process. CCR registration may be accomplished via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov or contact telephonically at 1-800-334-3414. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 1 August 2005. Only written requests for solicit ation packages will be accepted. Solicitation packages may be obtained by forwarding the written request to the Departments of the Army & Air Force, USPFO-Vermont, Vermont National Guard, 789 Vermont National Guard Road, Colchester, VT 05446-3099. Plan and specifications may be purchased directly from, Blueprints ETC., 20 Farrell Drive, South Burlington VT 05403. Contractors are to state if they are a women-owned, minority owned, small or large business. Bidder's Mailing List (Plan Holder List) will be provided upon receipt of a WRITTEN REQUEST. Bidder's Mailing Lists will be mailed only (no facsimile copies will be transmitted).
