- Description
- The work consists of cutting trees to thin overly dense timber stands to promote forest health and reduce hazardous fuel conditions. The project has an estimated 147 acres of precommercial thinning, an estimated 147 acres of machine piling, 320 rods (1 mile) of fence removal, 320 rods of new fence construction and the commercial harvest of an estimated 320 thousand board feet (320 MBF) of timber over a two-year period. The contractor will be given title to specified timber in exchange for the fuel treatment, forest health improvement work and fence construction. The stewardship project site is located 32 miles northeast of Burns, near Seneca, Oregon. Liability insurance and bonds are required after award: Performance Bond, 20%. This solicitation will be posted electronically. Paper copies are no longer available. Estimated issue date is July 11, 2005.
