- Description
- The National Institutes of Health intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to Bruker Biospin Corp.on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1)-Only one (1) responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements for the furnishing and installation of Avance 300 high performance digital NMR Spectrometer. This technology is required for the characterization of new chemical entities and the confirmation of structure of previously known chemical entities. The components include z-gradient accessory, Liquid helium program for installation, helium file for rigging required for installation and low temperature accessory for BVT-3200 and new air drying package to supply air for a new NMR. There is a possibility of substitution of reduced height helium transfer kit for standard helium transfer kit. A trade-in of the old equipment shall be added as a part of this requirement. The system includes multinuclear probe useful for 1H, 19F, and all nuclei between 15N and 31P (includes 13C). The system should have variable temperature control. The rigging and liquid helium service is necessary and continued with liquid helium service for the first (12) months. The equipment will provide equal capabilities along with the feature of at least a 2.5 times higher sensitivity for 1H and 13C. Along with the Gradient Spectroscopy accessory will speed up 2D NMR experiments by a factor of about 4 times. The system must fit into the current space. Available floor space is 115 inches wide x 168 inches long. The maximum ceiling clearance is 105 inches. Ceiling obstructions are present over much of the floor space. Only limited room modifications are possible. The proximity to car traffic and doorways, the actively shielding magnet is required. Any firm interested in submitting a capability statement that describes the unit with the same or similar features along with dimensions in accordance with specifications listed based on the room dimensions shall submit a written capability statement including any support documentation to the address in this synopsis no later than 15 days after the published date of this synopsis at 3:30pm on July 1, 2005. Faxed and emailed capability statements are not acceptable. All questions must be in writing and may be e-mailed to Deborah Britton at dbritton@cc.nih.gov. It is the vendor’s responsibility to call 301-594-5914 and verify that the questions were received. A determination by the Government not compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted. NAICS:334516.
