- Description
- The U.S. Census Bureau has released the final Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) Request for Proposal (RFP) on June 17, 2005. This acquisition is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 15. The website for this acquisition is located at http://www.census.gov/procur/www/fdca/index.html The Census Bureau serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. Every 10 years on April 1st, the Census Bureau conducts a Census of Population and Housing under authority of Title 13, U.S. Code. The Census Bureau will conduct the next decennial Census in the year 2010. The goal of the Field Data Collection Automation (FDCA) program is to facilitate and support our field staff's collection of high quality census data in an effecient and cost-effective manner. The Census Bureau must accomplish these data collection activities through the deployment and operation of IT systems that meet stringent performance, timing, security, and confidentiality requirements for the 2010 Census. The systems will support the data collection activities of Census Bureau enumerators and local census officers during both the 2008 dress rehearsal and the 2010 Census. During the 2010 Census the FDCA system will support approximately 450+ temporary offices, and a peak staff of approximately 500,000 enumerators. The Census Bureau plans to acquire the services of a Prime Systems Integrator who can develop, implement, and manage the systems (applications, equipment, local area networks, telecommunications) and provide the supporting services (maintenance, training, logistical support, monitoring, etc.) required to conduct field data collection operations for the 2010 Decennial Census. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (17-JUN-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
