- The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions received concerning the solicitation. 1. What is the scope of work to be done focused on? The work is focused on supporting International Programs projects throughout the world, principally in natural resources by providing personnel and administrative support as outlined in the scope of work. 2. Will the work focus more on technical forestry or have a broader natural resource focus? The work that the office is involved with includes forestry and natural resources. 3. What will be the average length of the tours overseas? Overseas tours vary from short term assignments to several years. 4. Is there an incumbent? METI, Corp. 5. If there is an incumbent, do you have their pricing schedule from the previous contract? Information not available. 6. Can you provide a general description of previous activities related to this project if applicable or what are some activities you hope to see developed with the new proposal? Previous activities include contracting individuals to manage natural resources projects and administrative support for international activities in the natural resource field. 7. How many positions do you anticipate will be needed and at what level? That is, junior, mid or senior positions We anticipate 8 to 10 long term positions per year and 20 to 30 short term positions of 2 to 4 week duration principally on overseas assignments. 8. I am also curious as to what type of equipment and maybe a rough order of magnitude of cost was available? Equipment may include fire fighting equipment, radios and electronics, computers, chain saws, etc. 9. Could you please give us more details on the positions we need to use for the bid? The USDA Forest Service has an 8a competitive requirement to enhance cooperation between the (USFS) and countries around the world on natural resources and conservation practices. It is anticipated that a Firm-Fixed price, 12-month contract with options to renew for 4 (four) successive 12 month periods beginning on date of award. The successful bidder shall provide individuals that are skilled in database formulation and management, writing, editing, communications, and logistics. Contractor will process and assist with security clearances for individuals when required for assignments overseas or to enter U.S. Government facilities. Specific language competency such as Russian, French, Mandarin, Portuguese, Arabic and Spanish may also be required. Contractor may be required to purchase equipment as specified for each project and provide administrative services as needed. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541710 and the size standard is 500 employees. This procurement is being issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP).
