- This solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about July 8, 2005 with a proposal opening date of approximately 30 days following issuance. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Description: Longfellow HVAC System Upgrade, Longfellow National Historic Site, 105 Brattle Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Solicitation Number R1850050012. This project consist of providing selective upgrades to an existing HVAC system utilizing water to air heat pumps, standing column wells, and direct digital controls. The upgrades generally include, but are not necessarily limited to, modifications to well system piping, valves and controls, as well as heat pump ducting and controls. All upgrades will also require testing, adjusting, and balancing of the HVAC and geothermal well system. This system provides heating and cooling, as well as limited humidity control to The Longfellow House and Carriage House at The Longfellow National Historic Site, 105 Brattle Street, Cambridge Massachusetts. The National Park Service anticipates entering into a firm fixed-price construction contract as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition is subject to P.L.100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and as such is open to all concerns regardless of size. The NAICS code for this project is 238220 with a small business size standard of $12 million. The contract performance period is 60 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated price range for this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractors are urged to make a site visit to ascertain existing work conditions. A pre-proposal conference is scheduled be held on Thursday July 14, 2005 at 10:00AM, further details will be described in the solicitation. All interested offerors are encouraged to attend.
