Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, Geologic Hazards Team, has a requirement for grounds maintenance and contract observer services at the San Juan Magnetic Observatory, Cayey, Puerto Rico. The contract observer services require an individual with extensive training and experience in making precise magnetic measurements with delicate instruments, and experience in operating and maintaining complex magnetometer and specialized recording systems. Individual must also reside in close proximity to the Observatory in order to handle any emergency services required to keep the observatory network operating on a continuing basis. Grounds maintenance must be performed on a continuing basis, due to the tropical environment which causes the foliage to grow at a fast rate around the Observatory grounds. Multiple awards may be made for these services. Performance period shall be for a period of one year from date of award. Interested parties shall complete the Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 05CRQQ0176 on the Electronic Commerce Web Site at the following address: http://ideasec.nbc.gov/. Telephone requests for the RFQ will not be accepted. It is anticipated the RFQ will be available on or after June 29, 2005. Responses to the RFQ will be due on or about July 12, 2004. This is a small business set-aside. See Note 1.
