- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) currently has a requirement for on-site preventive and remedial maintenance for CBP mainframe computing equipment and associated peripherals and storage sub-systems (e.g., Mainframe servers, Automated Tape Library, DASD sub-systems) for a critical high-availability data center environment in the Washington, DC area. The primary equipment (mainframe server) types are IBM zSeries, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) storage sub-systems, Fujitsu Prime Power 200, 1500, 2500 and Sun Microsystems 15K, 4500, 6500, 6800, etc. Interested firms may request access to a complete equipment list through this URL: https://www.fedteds.gov/fedteds/start.nsf/frm.vendorlogin?openform&SolicitationNumber=RFI_FOR_HW_MAINTENANCE IMPORTANT: 1. Due to the substantial impact of the supported systems on the Nation?s economy and security, a proven record of exceptional service is mandatory. 2. All personnel performing services must be U.S. Citizens. 3. All personnel performing services must successfully complete a CBP-specific Background Investigation. 4. If the Government decides to set aside this requirement for small business, then at least 50 percent of the dollar amount of the requirement must be performed by employees of a small business. The NAICS code is 811212 with a size standard of $21,000,000.00 (if set aside for small business). 5. This is not a request for proposals. This is a request for information only and all information received will be for planning purposes only. It does not constitute, nor is it to be construed as, a commitment by the Government. The Contracting Officer does not intend to award a contract on the basis of your responses, nor otherwise pay for the preparation of any information presented or for the use of any such information. 6. All propriety information submitted should be clearly marked as such. Interested firms should provide the following information- 1. Company name and address. 2. Contact name, title, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. 3. Contractor?s status under the identified NAICS code, if any, as a small business, small disadvantaged, women-owned, veteran-owned, HUBZone, service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern or 8(a) certified concern. 4. Geographic location(s) of offices(s) and number of employees at each location. 5. Federal Supply Schedule 70 Contract Number (if any). 6. Organizational history and capabilities statement, including- a. A summary of your firm?s relevant experience in comparable projects. Provide at least two client references, including contact information. b. A brief summary of quality assurance procedures used in comparable projects performed by your firm. c. A brief description of your firm's processes and procedures for maintaining a high level of equipment availability. d. A listing of any infrastructure or resource requirements that are necessary to perform the required services. Interested firms capable of providing all of the described services are invited to submit the requested information by 3:00 PM Eastern Time on July 8, 2005 to the Contracting Office Address identified above, attention T.
