Description

Furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials and perform all work for removing existing windows and replacing them with new double glazed , tinted windows with low emissivity characteristics on the second floors of the upstream Control Houses at Eisenhower and Snell Locks in Massena, New York. There will be a total of twenty two (22) windows approximately 4 feet high x 3 feet-6 inches wide. The work will include removal of lead-containing coatings from the steel framing and repainting of that steel prior to installation of the new windows. A purchase order shall be awarded on or about August 19, 2005. The work is to be completed by October 15, 2005. Cost range is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00.Tentative date for final receipt of request for quotation is 4:30 pm, August 17, 2005. The solicitation package may be requested by mail at the above address.There will be a Twenty-Five Dollar ($25.00)nonrefundable fee for plans, specs, and drawings.This will be a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This solicitation shall be issued in accordance with the ?Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program?. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises; The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for Transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for Bid, Payment, and Performance Bonds up to $1.0 Million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
