- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management proposes to negotiate a noncompetitive award of a purchase order with Saguaro GeoServices, Inc., PO Box 44154, Tucson AZ 85733, for geotechnical drilling and installation of a monitoring well at the site of the Almeda abandoned mine located within the Medford District, Oregon. Work includes hand excavation of a drill pad on the waste rock face, core drilling one hole 60 feet deep using hollow-stem auger or diamond core drilling methods, and installation of 1-2 inch monitoring well, and 60 feet of HQ casing. Estimated start work is July 24, 2005, and performance time is 7 calendar days. Saguaro GeoServices is the only contractor known to possess the following qualifications needed to meet the Bureau's requirements and work schedule: (1) Expertise in remediation of abandoned mine lands and activities related to hazardous waste operations; (2) specialized experience in site specific core drilling and monitoring well installations on steep slopes at remote sites; (3) experience conducting underground investigations and writing technical reports; and (4) access to necessary drilling equipment. Firms which meet the above contract requirements should submit their qualifications in writing specifically addressing the four criteria described above to the Contracting Officer. All responsible sources who submit a response will be considered. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
